Through some sort of magical Microsoft error the upcoming Gears of War 2 downloadable content bundle that was originally slated for release later this month on the 28th has found its way onto the Xbox Live Marketplace a bit premature, and a bit error filled.  A bit being a tad of an understatement as the download itself doesn’t actually appear to work, making the listing appear to be an error more than anything else.  Things have found their way onto the Marketplace by error before but the interesting bit of news coming out of this latest snafu is that the heavily anticipated Gears 2 expansion was originally slated to be 1600 Microsoft Points but the current listing has it as 800, for those of you who are mathematically impaired – that’s a saving of dang near 50%!

One has to wonder if it’s a pure error on Microsoft’s side or if Dude Huge managed to pull himself away from the roids gym for just long enough to make a gamer-friendly pricing adjustment.  Stay tuned to Gamedibs.com as this epic story unfolds over the next few days.

*UPDATE*

Microsoft has since removed the listing from Xbox Live and have yet to comment on the pricing details.  As is, the downloadable content is still set for release on July 28th.  It will be interesting to see what the actual price for the DLC will be.  Stay tuned.
